Maria and Nishan’s IVF Experience at Hannam Fertility Centre
Maria and her partner Nishan were anxious about IVF and the emotional investment it requires. At HFC, their worries were soothed by a caring team who supported them from start to finish. They recently welcomed their first baby.

The last few years have been busy for Maria and her partner, Nishan. They met in 2019, got married, bought a home, and began planning for a baby, excited to build a family and a life together. After a year of trying to conceive naturally, the pair decided to consult with a fertility specialist.
The couple knew they didn’t want to waste any time. They began researching clinics and collecting information about the experiences of friends who’d received fertility treatments.
“I was 38 at the time,” says Maria, “and I had no idea what to expect. We really wanted to have a baby. We really wanted to start our family. We were putting a lot of trust in someone that we'd never met before.”
Maria and Nishan knew that fertility treatment was going to be a big investment of time, money, and energy. The emotional stakes were high, as they are for so many people who seek fertility care. He answered our questions and he never gave us any false hope, which we appreciated,” Maria explains. “But he also wasn't negative. He was matter of fact but comforting.”
Maria and Nishan hoped to avoid the late-night google searches that could arise from second-guessing aspects of their care. At HFC, that was never an issue.

“For the first time with this whole process, I felt comfortable and hopeful and optimistic. I never met anyone that made me put my guard up or made me question things.”
Whenever Maria and Nishan had questions, they say that the response from their care team was unfailingly prompt. “At every step we had the confidence that we were given the information we needed, or that the support was there if we didn't know what to do,” says Nishan. “We always felt like a priority.”

Today, the couple has a healthy, happy, energetic baby and are considering coming back to HFC to continue growing their family. “We feel so grateful and blessed to be where we are now,” says Maria, “and if we can help anyone else feel that same confidence to move forward, we're happy to do that.”
