Tashfina’s IVF Experience at Hannam Fertility Centre

Tashfina’s fertility story will sound familiar to many people who’ve experienced pregnancy loss while trying to start a family. When she and her husband first faced difficulties getting pregnant, they asked their family doctor for a referral to a fertility clinic. At that clinic, Tashfina went through cycle monitoring and she was able to conceive quickly — but early in her pregnancy, an ultrasound showed an absence of a fetal heartbeat.
As difficult as the loss was, she decided to continue fertility treatment with IVF. Sadly, it didn’t work out. At 12 weeks, she had another loss and no embryos remaining.
Tashfina was devastated. After a couple of years of fertility treatments with no luck, she had started to believe her body simply wouldn’t be capable of getting pregnant and giving birth.
However, she decided to persevere and look elsewhere to pursue another round of IVF. On the suggestion of her naturopath, Tashfina booked an appointment at Hannam Fertility Centre.
“I was in one of the lowest moments of my life,” Tashfina shared. “I wasn't sure what was going to come of it. I just didn't have any hope.” But meeting with the HFC team gave her new confidence.
“You have a team of friendly people there to calm you, talk to you. You feel like you’re with people that care.”
A month after her second loss, Tashfina started her treatment at HFC, where the team took a different approach, resulting in 10 viable genetically screened embryos. Tashfina shared that she felt truly taken care of and supported by Dr. Hannam and the team of nurses, technicians, and administrators throughout her treatment. “You have a team of friendly people there to calm you, talk to you. You feel like you’re with people that care.”
“You can tell there’s probably a lot of training to make sure staff are patient-centric, that they engage and empower patients,” she continued. “You actually see that come through with all the different types of staff.”
Today, Tashfina and her husband are busy mom and dad to a toddler — and are planning to have a second embryo transfer with HFC this fall.
To those looking for a patient-centric fertility clinic, Tashfina says there’s no place like HFC. “You’re gonna get good results because these guys really know their stuff,” she shared. “And you're not going to wait for hours. You're not gonna be left behind.”
“I would give Hannam a ten out of ten,” she continued. “The level of care and attention you get will really matter in this journey, and you're going to get that here.”
